Safety is Priority: your personal security is the first consideration, in any place and at any time.
Risk calculation and vigilance: it is very important to anticipate an incident before it actually happens. Always focus on which action to take to counter any situation. If the risk is to great, rethink and reconsider your plans.
Premeditated Response: if you are in a threatening situation, try to keep calm and confident. Read the situation before taking any action. Always plan everything that you are going to do or say before making any move. Always comply to the threat and avoid eye contact with the perpetrator.
If you are involved in a robbery situation, remember:
- Stop: Stop what are you doing. Do not make movements that can be perceived as a threat or resistance. Keep your hands visible all the times.
- Do not Figh Back: Any resistance will only increase the risk of violence to talk place.
- Stay Calm: Take a deep breath and think about positive outcomes.
- This will son be over and everything will be alright…
- Stay Safe: Never do anything that can endanger yourself and/or other.
- Report: After the offender has left the scene, do not touch anything that he/she may touched. Keep the area secure and ask any witnesses (if any) to stay with you until the police come. Secure any evidence and make notes that describe the incident.
Security Advisory
With the increasing rampant acts of robbery against our motorist, i.e. Ambush at the crime prone area or when parking aside a street, here are several modes and tips we should know and implement:
Mode: Ambush by a people on the road. Pretended being hit and asking for money, or a group of people claiming as policeman and issuing a fetched chare.
Tip: Choose a normal and bright main street than small and deserted roads, even the distance is much closer. Aware on the vehicle’s speed limit and attend the surrounding circumstances to reduce the incident. Contact your when incident happened, choose a safe place, like police post, to talk about the incident. Contact your, Incident Call Center (ICC) or law enforcement authorities for help before get out of the vehicle.
- Mode: There are bikers who raise the sign or information seems our vehicle has flat tire.
- Tip: Don’t trust instantly. Don’t panic, don’t immediately stop and get out of the vehicle, this could ease the criminals to do their crime actions. Be calm and look for the safe place or gas station to check the tires. Do not leave the car unlocked and or opened door oven just to check the tires shortly.
- Mode: Theft of valuables by breaking the vehicle’s windows or windshield’s glass.
- Tip: To eliminate the chances of committing crimes, please be sure not to put valuables on the seat or a place that is easily visible from outside. Do not leave any valuables and company property inside the car while parking aside the road or public parking area, even in the house’s garage.
Several actions we could do to prevent said unexpected happening, as following:
- Aware on the crime prone areas from various sources; local radio, local newspaper and other trusted media.
- Check the vehicle readiness before use to ensure there’ll be not problems that can interfere your trip, i.e. flat tires, light-off, damaged key slots and others.
- Choose the trip path that you consider is the safest to pass
- Identify and recall the safe places along your selected routine path to escape from robbery, such as police or military posts, hospitals and crowd places.
